Excessive cleaning can cause square towels to become stiff.
On the one hand, excessive cleaning usually involves the use of a large amount of detergent. If the detergent is not thoroughly cleaned and remains on the towel, as the water evaporates, the chemical components in the detergent will crystallize and precipitate on the towel fibers, making the towel stiff.
On the other hand, frequent cleaning, especially with hot water, can cause the fibers in the towel to gradually lose their elasticity and become rough and hard during repeated wetting and drying processes. At the same time, excessive cleaning may damage the natural oil layer on the surface of the towel fibers, which could have kept the towel soft but made it easier to harden without it.
In addition, excessive cleaning using strong mechanical force, such as vigorous rubbing or excessive stirring, can damage or break the towel fibers, causing the towel structure to become loose and the hand feel to become hard.
